The Fight Lives On

Today the staff of Fuerza Unida continue working towards providing support to the groups that still struggle through oppression here in San Antonio. They provide a variety of services for their members, and work together to inform the community about everyday struggles minorities face. They currently have four active programs established to support the community. Scroll through the pictures below to learn more!

Monthly Food Pantry

Currently Fuerza Unida distributes over 100 bags of groceries each month to it’s members and the community. We view our South Side community as family and familia helps familia! If you would like to volunteer or learn more about how to receive a box, email us!

Thread Of Justice

This program was designed to give community members an opportunity for job security. Fuerza Unida emphasizes providing safe work conditions, proper living wages, and even incorporates leadership and business skills training for displaced garment workers and elderly women in San Antonio.

Youth Of Fuerza

Fuerza Unida runs a summer-long youth program designed to empower teenagers ages 13-17 to take action in the fight for social, political, economic, and environmental justice. The teens learn leadership skills and are taught to appreciate the cultural arts prevalent in the Mexican-American community. Soon the youth program will transition to being accessible year-long in order to better serve the youth of South San Antonio and the surrounding areas.

School Of Justice

Fuerza Unida hosts monthly meetings to keep members and the community informed on issues that directly (and indirectly) affect their way of life. These topics range from healthy living to diversity and even mental health advocacy. As a part of the meetings, experts in the topics are brought in to share their knowledge. These people come from many backgrounds such as lawyers, government officials, hospital staff, and other nonprofits in the area. We aim to make these valuable resources accessible to everyone in our community, not just those with a formal education and English-speakers
